Active Learning

Teaching strategies at Maharishi School ensure that students are motivated to learn and engaged in the process. To increase motivation, teachers emphasize the unique strengths and interests of their students, supporting a differentiated and individualized approach to learning.
In addition,
  • Students Learn by Doing: They discover, process, and apply information.
  • Active Exploration: Students use higher-order thinking skills (analysis, synthesis, evaluation), which research shows creates greater information retention.
  • Project-based Learning: Students apply course material to "real life" situations and/or to new problems.
  • Well-rounded Curriculum Increases Engagement: In addition to traditional academics, the curriculum includes sustainable living, speech, art, music, photography, Science Fair and History Fair.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Students participate in a wide array of extracurricular activities, including Enrichment Sports and Destination ImagiNation.
  • Leadership Skills: Students build leadership skills through teamwork and collaboration.
