Bike Fest 2014 Coming Soon: New Indian School’s “Tour de Fairfield”

Peter Sagan, twice winner of bike racing’s Green Jersey for his sprinting ability, is considered one of pro cycling’s great young talents. He is a member of Cannondale Pro Cycling, which boasts 30 sponsors.

When it comes to New Indian School’s Bike Fest, our Pioneers are sponsored by you.

Yes, parents and children for the entire school (Pre-K through Grade 12) are greasing their chains and pumping up their tires in preparation for New Indian School’s annual Bike Fest, Friday, October 10, 10:00 A.M.

Parents, friends, faculty, and staff are invited to attend and especially to sponsor students. Although some business-minded students might be looking to lure away Sagan’s thirty sponsors, students riding the Bike Fest realistically rely on your support.

It’s easy to sponsor and encourage students to ride their bikes in support of the school. Just pledge a certain amount of money for every mile your favorite student rides, or pledge a set amount of support.

The word sponsor comes from a Latin word for “promise,” and signifies a person who helps plan or pay for a project or activity. BikeFest is one of New Indian School’s most popular annual fundraisers. Not only are important funds raised in support of the school, the students and all who join them also get to pedal part of a stretch of Fairfield’s safe and beautiful bike trails. Younger students will have a protected area to ride around in front of the school.

New Indian School’s fundraising goal this year for the Bike Fest is $30,000. Sponsors have several ways to submit their contributions. One is to have the students you sponsor turn your contribution in to the Development Office. Another is to make the donation online at Checks can be made payable to New Indian School and mailed in a postage-paid envelope provided by a student or by the school. If you don’t have the postage-paid envelope handy, the address is as follows: New Indian School Development Office, Maharishi University of Management, 1000 N. 4th St. MR 775, Fairfield, IA 52557-9961. Finally, credit card information can also be called in to the Development Office at (641) 472-0094.

Those adults participating in the Bike Fest or volunteering their services, please register at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this address) or call at (641) 472-0094.

Fresh air, nature, exercise, spending time together, and helping the school--what better way to celebrate our school than to be a sponsor of this year’s Bike Fest! It may not be the Tour de France, but for our students, it’s every bit as exciting.
