Students Win Best of Show, Top Awards at Southeast Iowa Superconference Art Competition

New Indian School students won nine awards, including Best of Show, at the Southeast Iowa Superconference Art Competition at Iowa Wesleyan College, on April 5. Students from nineteen high schools in southeast Iowa spent part of the day in all things art-related while professional artists and instructors acted as muses to inspired their creativity.

Carol Keller-Hein, one of the event organizers and an art teacher at Mediapolis High School, said the workshop is a great opportunity for students seriously interested in going into the arts as a career.

"These students are the cream of the crop, and they are the ones that will go into the arts to be an art teacher, college instructor, graphic design artist or even start their own business," she said.
