Gandharva Veda

Music of Nature

Gandharva Veda music expresses the eternal melodies and rhythms of Nature—it is music in harmony with Natural Law.

Gandharva melodies, or ragas, performed at specific times of day and night neutralize stress in the atmosphere and create a harmonizing influence for the individual and peace for our whole world family. The particular quality of each raga enlivens characteristics such as greater courage, self-confidence, wisdom and happiness.

Resident Gandharva experts from India frequently teach Maharishi School students to play bamboo flute or tabla, a small drum. Students may also learn to sing simple Gandharva melodies.
