Preschool/Child Care

Maharishi Preschool is a place for the children of Fairfield to learn and grow.

They arrive in the morning eager and excited to see friends and to get to work. They choose from the shelves from all the prepared activities, science, music, sensorial, practical life, language, math, art, puzzles, and snack. We work individually and in groups throughout the morning. They also have time to spend in their own outdoor learning environment, the Nature Explore Classroom.

The Nature Explore Classroom is a source of wonder and adventure. The children collaborate on games, creative projects in nature and building their physical skills and abilities.

Our unique curriculum introduces the Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI), an interactive program that encourages your child to see connections between him/herself and the Natural Law displayed in the world. Your child's appreciation of the wonder of life will be enlivened through simple principles such as “The nature of life is to grow.” Through play-oriented activities - songs, stories, nature study, cooking, art, and sport - these SCI principles are enlivened and understood.

Preschool children are 18 mos.– 4 years old by September 15, 2013. Preschool children have the option to attend class two, three, four, or five mornings per week - see Tuition Information for rates.

At Maharishi Preschool, high standards are maintained for each child’s happiness, comfort, and ability to cooperate in a group. Preschool should be easy and nourishing for the child and the School reserves the right to decide that a child is not ready for the program. In this case, the Preschool Director will discuss the situation with the parents, and a pro-rated refund will be given.

Preschool/Child Care Director

Rebecca Bellonci is a certified Montessori teacher, has served as Education Director and lead teacher at a Montessori school in North Carolina and has conducted several parent education programs. A long-time meditator, Rebecca is also a practitioner of the TM-Sidhi program. In her own words, Rebecca shares her thoughts about Maharishi Preschool:
“I would like everyone who enters the Preschool to feel the beauty of the space. Happy, busy, purposeful children create a hum in the environment. This is a lively, tangible quality of creativity in action. When children experience an environment that meets their needs, with the freedom and support to explore and experience what interests them, the sense of enjoyment is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen. This is my goal for Maharishi Preschool.”

To speak directly to Rebecca, please call 641-472-9400, ext. 5100. She can answer any questions you might have regarding Preschool or Child Care.
